What the global meta does
Global meta is the default title and description RankFrame injects on pages that do not have a custom per-page meta configured. Think of it as a site-wide fallback.
If a user opens your Framer site and lands on a page where you have not configured a specific title and description, Google uses whatever is in the page's HTML. Without RankFrame, that is often blank or auto-generated. With RankFrame's global meta set, every unoptimized page has a meaningful fallback.
Most Framer sites have dozens of pages. It is impractical to write custom meta for all of them at launch. Setting a strong global default ensures coverage across the whole site from day one.
Setting your global meta title
Open RankFrame and navigate to Global Settings. The Basic tab is selected by default. You will see two fields: Meta Title and Meta Description.
Click the Meta Title field and type your global title. Keep it under 70 characters. A good format is:
Primary Keyword | Brand Name
Or for homepages:
Brand Name — Short Value Statement
This title appears in browser tabs and search result headlines. Make it readable and relevant.
Setting your global meta description
Click the Meta Description field and type your global description. Aim for 150 to 160 characters. A strong meta description does three things.
States clearly what the site or page is about
Includes the primary keyword naturally
Ends with a reason to click
Avoid filler phrases like "Welcome to our website" or "Learn more here". Write a real sentence about what users will find.
Using AI to generate meta
RankFrame can generate your global meta title and description using AI. Click the Generate with AI button next to each field.
AI uses your Personalization data (brand name, brand description, goals, and audience) to generate a relevant result. If the output is not quite right, regenerate. Each generation uses 1 AI credit.
See AI Meta Tag Generation for a full guide on getting the best AI output.
Saving and publishing
After typing or generating your meta, click Save Meta.
RankFrame saves your global meta to your account and queues it for injection.
Publish your Framer site to apply the meta to your live pages.
RankFrame injects meta via a Framer code override. Publishing your Framer project is always required after making any changes in RankFrame for them to take effect on your live site.
Frequently asked questions
What is the recommended character limit for a meta title?
Keep it under 70 characters. Google typically displays the first 50 to 60 characters in search results. RankFrame shows a live character counter as you type.
